Connie D. Jones Gilbert, 77, of Parsons, died at 11:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Parsons Good Samaritan Society.

She was born January 2, 1936, in Seneca, Missouri to Darwin and Nadene (Giett) Jones.

She was raised by her mother and stepfather, James McDaniel, in Raymond, Kansas. In 1954, she graduated from Raymond High School and later attended the Salt City Business School in Hutchinson, Kansas. She later lived in Lyons, Palco, Plainville, Olathe, and Shawnee, Kansas. While Living in Shawnee, she worked at TG&Y, Terminix, Sprint Print and AWT.

She moved to Parsons in March 2003.

Mrs. Gilbert had been a Cub Scout Leader for 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and playing bingo. She was a fan of Elvis Presley and the Kansas City Chiefs.

She and Arden Gilbert were married on April 11, 1958, in Joplin, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1976.

Survivors: two sons; Raymond Gilbert; Ronald Gilbert; one daughter; Tammy Cunningham; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a half brother, Henry Jones.
