Becky J. Jackson, 49 years, of Jacksonville, IL died Thursday morning, January 20, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL following a 22 year battle with lupus. She was born December 24, 1955 in Jacksonville, IL; the daughter of Robert E. “Jack” and M. Jean Icenogle Jackson. She is survived by her parents of Jacksonville; a daughter, Amber Dawn Bown Larsen (husband, Michael) of Downers Grove; two sons, Benjamin L. Jackson of Normal and Chance A. Jackson of Jacksonville; a brother, Gary L. Jackson (wife, Kathy) of Jacksonville; a nephew; a great niece; and a great nephew. Ms. Jackson was a 1974 graduate of Jacksonville High School and was employed several years at Capitol Records in Jacksonville. She was a member of Jacksonville Community Christian Church and a devout Christian who kept her faith in God throughout her illness. She was instrumental in forming a local Lupus Support Group and when able had volunteered at Passavant Area Hospital. She was an accomplished poet who had some of her work published. She enjoyed music, dance, caring for her children, and cooking (especially Christmas cookies). She was a student of nutrition and became well read on the subject. She had a special love for animals and had considered a career in veterinary science. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, south of Jacksonville.
