Charlotte (White) (Lansing) Greene, 67, of Boyd Hill Road in Wilmington died Saturday afternoon at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont following a brief illness. Mrs. Green was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Wilmington, the daughter of Walter F. and Minna Minton (Temple) White. She graduated from Wilmington High School. She was first married in 1942 to Harold A. Lansing, who died in 1951. In 1965 she married Merrill K. Greene, who died in 1976. Before her marriage to Mr. Lansing, she had been employed at the Foxwood School on Long Island in New York, later she worked at Mount Snow Ski Area in Dover, served as executive director of the Dover and Wilmington Vacation Council, had been active in the Vermont Development Department and worked as a school bus driver for the Wilmington school system. She was a member of the Wilmington Historical Society. Surviving are a son, Harold W. Lansing of Albany, N.Y.; a stepson, Robert L. Greene of Wilmington; two daughters, Leona Lansing of South Burlington and Minton Jeffrey of Huntington; three stepdaughters, Mary Sabey of Lima, N.Y., Polly Qua of Vidalia, N.Y., and Carol West of Great Barrington, Mass.; 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Covey and Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington. The Rev. George Tribble, pastor of the South Burlington Baptist Church, will officiate. Spring interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Wilmington.
