Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Orange City May 10 for Charles Sterrenburg, Sr., 77, of Orange City, who died May 8 at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Services were conducted by the Rev. E. Van Engelenhoven and burial was made in West Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sterrenburg was born November 30, 1896, at Leota, Minn.
He married Matilda De Jong November 29, 1917, at Orange City.
He was a World War I veteran, and had been an employee of Sioux County for more than 40 years.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Dr. Charles Sterrenburg, Jr. of Beaver Dam, Wisc.; a daughter, Mrs. Evan (Jean) De Jong of Evansville, Ind., four grandchildren and one brother, Richard of Platte, S.D.
