(2) John Franklin Davis, 1891. To this union 2 children were born: John Franklin Davis Jr. 1892-1940 and Sarah Davis 1908-1966.

Obituary in The Lufkin Daily News, Nov. 28, 1933


The remains of Mrs. Ellie Davis who died in a Paris hospital last night, were brought to Lufkin this morning by the Glenn Undertaking Co. and the remains will be interred tomorrow afternoon, following the services at the Methodist church at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Dr. Godbey.


The News was not able to secure the data on the life of this beloved Christian character in time for the afternoon paper, but will give a more detailed mention on tomorrow.


The remains will lie in state at the Methodist church, of which the deceased hd been a member from early childhood, from 3 to 4, with the services in charge of that great preacher and warm friend of the family, Dr. Godbey. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery.
