Robert E. Gasper, of Canton, died Thursday. Born in Buchtel, OH, he had been a Canton resident most of his life. He was retired from the M. Conley Co. and the J.A. Conley Co. Bob was a member of St.. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton, and was a member and a past Exalted Ruler of the North Canton Elks No. 2029. He was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran. Preceded in death by his wife, Joan T. Gasper, who died in 1986, his parents, Henry and Anna Day Gasper, brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Paul, John, Richard, and Charles Gasper, sisters, Mary Schwan and Ann Van Orden, and infant siblings, Theresa and William. Survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert P. Gasper of Columbus, David M. and Cindy Gasper of Canton, William P. and Sheila Gasper of North Canton, and Michael J. and Mary Ann Gasper of Canton; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Angeline Carroll, Dorothy Stark and Catherine Lantry, all of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Canton with Fr. Nicholas Mancini and Fr. William Bantz, his nephew, as Concelebrants. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 7-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. The North Canton Elks will have a service Sunday at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elks National Foundation, C/O The North Canton Elks. (Lamiell, 330-456-7375)
