Retired farm-management executive Coder dies
OMAHA (AP) -- John J. Coder, a former vice president and board member of one of the nation's largest farm-management firms, died Thursday after a long illness. He was 86. Coder worked for almost 50 years as a farm manager at Omaha-based Farmers National Co. Born on a farm near Dwight, Coder attended Grand Island Business College, Creighton University and the University of Nebraska. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Marilyn Bush of Littleton, Colo., Margaret Sabus of Bennington, Susan Lipsey of Omaha and Patricia McCartin of Englewood, Colo.; sons, Timothy of Corrales, N.M., and Richard of Omaha; brother, Emmanuel of Bellingham, Mass.; 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
