Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Teresa was the daughter of Carmelo & Maria (Rivera) Merced. She married the love of her life, Wilbur Love, on June 3, 1942. Together they moved to the United States in 1945 and then to Monroe in 1950. Sadly he preceded her in death October of 1984. A dedicated homemaker, Teresa was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and its Altar Society, Frenchtown Senior Citizens and was a volunteer with Heartbeat of Monroe.

Teresa leaves to cherish her memory her children: Eric &Francis Love of Graham, Washington, Ockie Love of Arizona, Patrick & Jamie Love of Monroe, Walter Love of Monroe, Oretha Davison of Seattle, Washington and Cheryl & Ernie Winkles of Erie. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Teresa was preceded in death by a brother Pablo Merced, as well as three sisters: Carmen Reyes, Emilia Garcia and Amparo Rodriguez.

Private Funeral services were held today from St. Anne's Catholic Church, under the direction of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
