From Tuesday's Daily:

Mrs. James Turner died at 12:30 this morning of apoplexy, at her home corner of East Crockett and South Washington avenues.

The death was very sudden, as Mrs. Turner was stricken while dressing to go to the Chautauqua. All of her many friends are terribly shocked and grieved over her death.

Mrs. Turner was formerly Miss Eudora Knox and was born Jan. 9, 1843, in Lincoln county, Tenn. She moved to Texas with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Knox, when five years old, and settled near Jonesville. She was united to Major James Turner in marriage, March 7, 1860.

She leaves a devoted husband, Maj. James Turner and four children to mourn her loss, Mrs. J. E. Blair, of San Marcus, Mrs. Eugene Bullock of Dallas, Mr. Robert Turner, of this city and Mr. Nataniel Turner of Santiago, de Cuba.

Mrs. Turner was a model wife, mother and friend, and in all her life work love and duty found her every thought. She was a consistent member of the First Methodist church of this city and an earnest worked in the W. C. T. U.

The light of the home went out with Mrs. Turner. The husband and children feel that they sit alone in the gloom, but yet a little while and angel hands will draw aside the curtain and they will see the dear mother in the light of a fairer world, where all the earthly cares are laid aside and life triumphant over death enjoys eternal light.

The funeral services were conducted at the residence at 4 o'clock this afternoon with Dr. W. F. Packard officiating.
