Nurseryman, whose family operated Navlet's Nursery and Florists with locations in the East Bay Area, in particular Oakland, California. In 1948 he brought the idea of a children's park to the attention of the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club, and with the assistance of the Oakland Parks superintendent, the breakfast club, and citizens, raised enough money to bring Children's Fairyland on the shores of Lake Merritt, and it continues to this day.
