Mrs. Margaret J. Hughes, 74, Lyerly, died Friday June 15. She was born in Chattooga County July 6, 1915, daughter of the late James Arthur and Argie Leona Davis Mann, She was a textile worker, a member of the West Berryton Faith Temple, an d was preceded in death b y her husband William Arzo Hughes in April 1987.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jo, Lyerly, one son Marvin Hughes, Lyerly: three brothers B ill Mann of Tampa, Florida, John Mann of Lyerly, and W.A. Mann of Big Rock, Alabama; four sisters, Faye Rice of Lyerly, Lula Hughes, and Essie Lively, both of Summerville, and Katherine Sims of Hamilton, New Jersey; 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday, June 17 from the West Berryton Faith Temple with the Revs Grady Cook and Fletcher Toles officiating. Interment in Lyerly Cemetery.

Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home had charges of the arrangements.
