SANDERS - Funeral services for Jacob J. Sanders, 89, who died, January 17, 1945, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gordon W. Leaky, in Rochester, were conducted Friday afternoon from the Wheeler funeral home, the Rev. Paul H. Huyett, East Bloomfield Methodist Church pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
Mr. Sanders had lived with his daughter for three years and had been confined to his bed for several months. Born June 6, 1855, in Pompton, NJ, he was the son of Jacob J. and Mary Ann Thornell Sanders. When a small child he went with his parents to Naples and lived there until he moved to East Bloomfield, 36 years ago. He was well known in this locality as a carpenter.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ray Hinds of Holcomb, Mrs. Rexford Inglis of Shortsville, and Mrs. Leaky, eight grandchildren and five greats, two sisters, Mrs. Harrison Tuttle of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Edgar Alford of Bristol Springs, and one brother, Daniel Sanders of Bristol Springs.
