KINSTON - George Wesley "Tick/Hound Dog" Dove, passed Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the V.A. Medical Center in Durham. He was born to the late James Lee Dove and Sarah Jones Dove in Jones County, N.C. He was educated in the Jones County School system, served in the United States Army for three years and served in the Korean War. He was wounded twice and because of his bravery and dedication to his unit, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Good Conduct Badge, the United Nations Service and National Defense Service Medal, the Bronze Star, The Korean Service and Overseas Service Medals. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Post Oak FWB Church in Kinston with Elder James Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Estates, Grifton. Viewing will be from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the church. He leaves many cherished memories to his wife, Jazie Dove of Macon, Ga.; daughters Debbie Carty of Macon, Ga. and Telecia Turner (Charles) of Pooler, Ga.; sons Anthes "TD" Dove, of Kinston, retired U.S. Navy, and Darryl D. "Triple D" Dove (Sharon) of Beaverton Ore..; sisters Ruth D. Moultrie of Kinston, Catherine Murphy of Las Vegas, Nev., and Pearlie Wilkie of Baltimore, Md.; brothers William Lee Dove and Henry Guy Dove of Kinston; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
