Dale, of Mason, MI. died unexpectedly Saturday, June 15, 2013 while in surgery to repair an abdominal aortic embolism.

Dale graduated in 1965 from East Lansing High School. He was a civil engineering student at LCC and Wayne State University. He served 1970-72 as Sgt in the United States Army Corps Combat Engineers. As head instructor of "Parish Country" he and wife Jackie taught couples all over Michigan to develop a love of dance. Dale was a Building Materials Sales Representative for over 35 years in the Lansing area and was currently employed with Legg Lumber (Lumbertown) in Holt.

Dale was full of life, always had a constant smile, laughter that was contagious, a funny joke to lighten our day, and tidbits of information to share and spark knowledge. He was eager to lend a helping hand and encouraged us all to care for our neighbor. Dale was a living example of kindness in soft subtle ways and being around him always made people feel good.

He was preceded in death by parents Wayne and Shirley (Treadwell) Parish and brother Michael Parish.

In November of 2013 he and wife Jacqueline (Stubbert) Parish would have celebrated a very anticipated 45 years together in love.

He is also survived by daughter Emily Emersen (partner Maggie Rich) of Mason; son James W. Parish of Issaquah, WA; and grandsons Wm. Bradley Thompson of Lansing and Jacob Parish of Issaquah, WA; sisters Mary Lee (Candi Parish) Kelts of Harrison, Renee (Robert) Little of Lansing, and Monica Parish of Clinton Township; brothers Gregory (Jan) Parish of Brighton, Jeffery (Mary) Parish of Muskegon, and David (Tamara) Parish of Lansing; several aunts and uncles, many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a multitude of friends.

A memorial service was held Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Mason. In true giving character, Dale was a donor to The Gift of Life Michigan Organ & Tissue Donation Program and he will continue to live on by facilitating others healing.

A Celebration of His Life and final act of service will follow at the King Arthur's Court Clubhouse, Lansing MI.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be sent to the V.F.W. National Home for Children, Eaton Rapids, or The Wounded Warrior Project, Topeka, KS in memory of Dale Parish.
