Obituary From the "Ottumwa Courier," Saturday, May 11, 1940:

Albia.– Warren Kirk, 85, died at his home in Eldon at 1:10 a.m. today after being in poor health the last 18 months. He had lived in Eldon the last 10 years and before that he lived in Ottumwa.

He was a member of the Wesley Methodist church in Ottumwa and was married to Miss Ella Jane Kinney in 1886. She died in 1924. Two daughters also preceded him in death.

He was married to Mrs. Rhua Lathers in 1938. He is survived by his second wife; two sons, William Kirk of Ottumwa and John M. Kirk of Hillsdale, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Daisy Snelling of Galesburg, Ill., Mrs. Ada Cherry of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Adeline Essary of Eldon; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell funeral home in Eldon in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure of Ottumwa.
