First letter of administration is dated Nov. 20, 1854 on file in Newton County probate court. Grave is located on what was once the farm of James Fowler which was inherited by his children. Daughter, Margaret married John Wilson who maintained the farm and raised the younger Fowler children through out the civil war and until his death. Land was then sold by son, Joel H. Fowler with the burial area retained by deed.
Burial area includes several Wilsons and other members of the Fowler family including namesake grandson, James A. The small area has now disappeared into farm land and if there were markers, they have disappeared.
