Cheryl Ann Barnhart, 52, of Waverly, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Cheryl was born on November 10,1959, daughter of (the late) Ernie and Betty (Phelps) Barnhart.

Cheryl was employed by Ashton Healthcare in Athens, Pa. She enjoyed camping and fishing. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially loved spending time with her two grandchildren; Jayden and McKenna. Cheryl's last with was to marry her lifelong boyfriend, Chris Barrett. With the help of the oncology nurses and family, they were able to make her wish come true on Monday, Feb. 6, at Robert Packer Hospital.

Cheryl is survived by her spouse, Chris Barrett of Waverly, N.Y.; son: Eric and Holly (Kitchen) Sinsabaugh of Athens, Pa.; daughter, Tanya Negron (Sinsabaugh) and Ryan Negron of Abingdon, Md.; step-children, Ashlee Barrett and Andrew Barrett of Buena Vista, Colo.; grandson, Jayden Sinsabaugh of Athens, Pa.; granddaughter, McKenna Negron of Abingdon, Md.; brother, Richard and Ann Barnhart of Summerville, S.C.; sister, Jean and Steve Kennedy of Williamsburg, Va.; mother-inlaw, Beverly Sinsabaugh of Waverly, N.Y.; aunt, Susie and Ray Richards of Waverly, N.Y.; uncle, Chuck Barnhart of Waverly, N.Y.; her special companion, her beloved cat: Sophie; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

A memorial service celebrating Cheryl's life will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Emory Chapel Church, Emory Chapel Road, Barton, N.Y., with Pastor Gary Culver officiating. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to Team Hope for Cheryl, Relay for Life at www.relayforlife.org/GetInvolved/Donate. Memorial may be shared by visiting tiogapointcremation.com. Caring services are being provided by Cooley Tioga Point Cremation & Burial Options, Athens, Pa.
