East Prairie - Miss Tammy Jane Bennett, 21 years old, of East Prairie, died Sunday in University Hospital in St. Louis following a brief illness.
She was born May 7, 1962, at Sikeston, the daughter of Teddy and Jane Haney Bennett, who survive.
She was a 1980 graduate of East Prairie High School, and was a senior at SEMO State University in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of the Wolf Island Baptist Church and the Baptist Student Union at SEMO State.
Also surviving are brothers, Sam and Roy Bennett; maternal grandfather, Norwood Haney; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ted Bennett.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at the Shelby Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
