Vera C. Beamer, 79, died Saturday, March 13, 1982, at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom. Born September 13, 1902, at Utica, she married Merritt Beamer September 16, 1922, at WaKeeney. He died May 1, 1942. She had lived in Ransom since 1936. She was a member of the church of Christ at Ransom and the Utica Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by a son, Edwin Beamer of Ransom; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Edna Mae) Simpson of Ransom and Mrs. Lyn (Ethel) Kingrey of Man, La.; a brother, Robert Clodfelter of Lamar, Colo.; and five sisters, Mrs. Vella Strates of Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Josie Zordel of Ransom; Mrs. Sara Mae Taylor of Korval, Colo.; Mrs. Gladys Sherman of Limon, Colo.; and Mrs. Dollie Weisenborn of Philadelphia, Penn.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the church of Christ in Ransom with Brothers Ron Friberg and Bill Buggeln officiating.

Burial was in the Ransom Cemetery.

Vera was born in a sod house north of Utica on September 13, 1902, to Rufus Euphrates Clodfelter and Annie Elizabeth Bowie Clodfelter. She moved with her parents to Batavia, Ark., near Harrison in March, 1911. In 1915 her parents moved back to Utica. She married Merritt Alexander Beamer on September 16, 1922, at WaKeeney, Kans., where their three children were born. They lived in Karval, Colo., for awhile. They lived at Ransom since 1936. Her husband died May 1, 1942. She had been a widow for nearly 40 years. Vera entered the Ransom, Kans., Long Term Care in March, 1979. Elsie Showalter was a beloved roommate. Vera passed away March 13, 1982, Saturday, at about 6 a.m. in the Grisell Memorial Hospital, Ransom. She was exactly 79 1/2 years old. She was a member of the church of Christ and the Rebekah Lodge, both of Utica.

Survivors include: son, Edwin of Ransom; daughters, Edna Mae Simpson of Ransom, Ethel E. Kingrey of Many, La.; brother, Robert Clodfelter of Lamar, Colo.; sisters, Vella Strates of Fresno, Calif., Josie Zordel of Ransom, Sara Mae Taylor of Karval, Colo., Gladys Sherman, of Limon, Colo., Dollie Weisenborn of Philadelphia, Pa.; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many other relatives, friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers, John Rufus and Willie Lem (Bill) Clodfelter.

Memorial services were at the Ransom Church of Christ Tuesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. with Bill Buggeln of Great Bend and Ron Friberg of Ransom officiating.

Interment was at the Ransom cemetery.
