Funeral services for Delores Ballard, 57, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday December 22, 2004 in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Maurice Hays officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Ms. Ballard died on Sunday, December 19, 2004 at her residence.

A native of Owensboro, KY, Delores was born on June 27, 1947, the daughter of the late Benny and Norma Jean McCoy Ballard. She was a graduate of Union University with a bachelor's degree in English. Delores was employed for twenty-seven years with the Jackson Sun, before joining the City of Jackson in 1997 as the Public Information Officer. Delores was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Ambassador's Club with the City of Jackson. She was a Christian in faith and always remembered the needs of others.

Delores is survived by her sister Nancy Owen of Jackson; two nieces, Holly Owen and Laura Owen of Jackson and two aunts, Nancy Coates and Anita McCoy of Bartlett, TN.

Pallbearers to serve will be Ron Barry, Stan Pilant, Jim Jacobs, Johnny Williams, Jeffrey Johnson and Lacy Bond.
