Miles E. Nelson passed away August 30, 2001.
He was born August 22, 1917 in St. George, Utah to Henry Ernest and Euphemia (Famie) Nelson. He married Melba Swapp March 22, 1936 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Miles served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and won the purple heart. After graduation from BYU, Miles owned and operated several barber shops prior to retirement. He was a member of the LDS church.
He is survived by his children, M. Gary, M. Kent and wife Nancy of Mesquite, NV; Ray S. Nelson and his sister Evelyn Hunt of Fair Oaks, CA; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Rex and Ray, sister Alice Milne.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 7, 2001, 2 p.m. at the Holladay Memorial Cemetery, 4900 Memory Lane.
