Lewis Fremont Watson, 77, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at a Dallas area hospital of complications of a long battle with the lung disease COPD. Lewis is survived by his beloved wife of over 48 years, Virginia Gragg Watson and son Scott Gragg Watson; his twin sister, Lucia Smallheer and her husband Doug of San Diego, California; his brother, Walter Watson, and his wife June of Hartsdale, New York, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Lewis was born on May 3, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, to Helen and Walter Watson. He graduated from Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he was a four year letterman in track. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Naval Reserve and served on the U.S. Naval Air Carrier, Midway. He was a thirty year employee of Sears and Roebuck in management. Following his retirement he was a tax preparer for twenty years. He loved to play tennis with his friends and before his illness it was his favorite activity. He always put others before himself and was a very kindhearted and caring man. Visitation will be at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville on Wednesday, June 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 am, Thursday, June 20, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
