I was unable to find a listing for Florence Ray Mitchell in the online transcript showing burials in Carlsbad Cemetery. However, notes made around 1970 by Asleigh’s cousin, Josephine Burleson Hendley, show that the grave of Florence Mitchell was unmarked at that time except for a large cement slab that lies to the right of Walter Clay Mitchell’s grave (Section A, Block 3, Lot 1, Grave 3) and at the head of the grave of Mary Frances Mitchell (Section A, Block 3, Lot 1, Grave 4). Ashleigh believes that several newer markers were placed by the family after 1970, including the marker for Florence.
