GOLDIE McCLANAHAN

CHARLESTON — Goldie McClanahan, 90, of Charleston died at 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 23, 1983) at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John (Ruth Ann) Stout, 7 Circle Drive.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Caudill-King Funeral Home with burial in Arcola Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

Mrs. McClanahan was born Oct. 20, 1892, near Newton, a daughter of John and Louisa Nottingham Grove. She was married to Clarence R. McClanahan on June 29, 1909, in Newton. He died Feb. 12, 1969.

Mrs. McClanahan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston.

She is survived by four sons, Jack of Charleston, Paul of Lafayette, Ind., Richard of Snohonish, Wash., and Jerry of Lake Station, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Stout and Mrs. Max (Mary) Cougill, both of Charleston, Mrs. Harold (Delta) Parkes of Newman, Mrs. Thomas (Elizabeth "Bettie") Harrington of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Mrs. James (Marjorie) Ghiglione of Bain Bridge Island, Wash.; 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
