Harvey D. Guffey, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008.
He was born Dec. 13, 1914, in Scottsboro, Ala., to Amos and Mary Guffey. He moved to Chattanooga as a young man and remained until his death. He was a deacon and member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Guffey; his parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his only daughter, Barbara Guffey; and sister-in-law, Lou Ella Neal.
There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, West, "The Garden of the Good Shepherd."
Arrangements are by Wann Funeral Home, St. Elmo.
