George Mann enlisted as a Private in Company D of the Reorganized Fourth Michigan Infantry on September 8, 1864, for 3 years of service, at age 21. He was promoted to Sergeant on September 14, 1864, and mustered out of the service on May 26, 1866, at Houston, Texas.
