Steven Lee Spears, age 23 of Gore passed from this life to Heaven on Friday, June 14, 2013. He was born on Jan. 27, 1990 in Tahlequah to Steven Paul and JoAnn (Buttery) Spears. He was the loving oldest brother of Joseph Tyler Spears and Dalton Riley Spears, both of the home.


Steven attended Muldrow High School where he was a member of the football team from seventh through 11th grades. He graduated from Gore High School in 2009 and was a member of the football team. He was an apprentice in the Ironworkers Local Union 584.


Steven was known by his family as a gentle, kindhearted, and loving boy who always put others before himself. He was a member of Notchietown Baptist Church of Gore.


He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Delmer and Kathy Webster Buttery of Gore; maternal great-grandparents, Red and Beulah Dunn of Vian and Bill and Pearl Buttery of Gore; paternal great-grandparents, O.L. and Junie Spears of Gore and Jim and Frances Hefley of Webbers Falls.


He is survived by his parents, Steve and JoAnn of the home; brothers, Joey and Dalton of the home; paternal grandparents, Orville and Lahoma Spears of Gore; aunts, Denise Spears Roddy of Bixby and Leanne Spears of Glenpool; uncles, Donnie Buttery and wife, Janetta of Salina, Kan., and Scott Spears of Los Angeles, Calif.; and cousins Grant and Kate Roddy of Bixby and Quintin and Donavon Zanecnik of Salina, Kan.
