Larry Stevens Furtick, age 60, died June 05, 2013 at home in Charlotte, NC surrounded by his family. The cause of death was Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was born July 01, 1952, to Wilfred Haskell and Jacquelyn Barton Furtick Anderson in Swansea, South Carolina. Most of his life was spent in Moncks Corner, SC, operating his barbershop.
Mr. Furtick welcomed his first child and only daughter, Stephanie in 1975. He married Faith Liles on August 12, 1978 and the marriage brought forth two children: Steven in 1980 and Matthew in 1983.
Survivors include his wife, Faith; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Furtick-Jones and Chris Jones of Bamberg, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Holly Boitnott Furtick of Charlotte; son, Matthew Furtick of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Hannah and Austin Jones and Elijah, Graham and Abigail Furtick; mother, Jacquelyn of Macedonia, SC; brother, Russell Furtick of Moncks Corner; brother, Don Furtick of Orangeburg, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Haskell and his brother, James.
He attended Elevation Church since moving to Charlotte in 2010. Memorial services will be at the church on Monday, June 10, 2013.
