Auto Race Car Driver. Nicknamed "The Pampas´Bull", began his career with single seaters based in Ford and Chevrolet chassis and engine. Later, he participated in the Turismo Carretera Categoría. But he reached international fame by beating two times in a few days the mighty Mercedes Benz Team at the Costanera Circuit (Buenos Aires, 1951.) He made his debut in the Formula One in Monaco, 1950. The following year, he scored the first victory for the Ferrari Team in the F-1 (Silverstone.) In 1954 he won the Le Mans 24 Hours sharing a Ferrari 375 Plus with Maurice Trintignant. He raced 26 times in Formula One, scored two victories. After his retirement, he participated in the Argentine Turismo Carretera as team manager, developing the "Chevitú" (a Chevy Nova) which was the milestone of a new era in the category.
