In 1928 he married Bessie Lee Creasy, who is only 6-months younger than him. Please note that all of George "Clifton" Brown's descendants still living in Indianapolis have only known him by the name of "Clifton". We presume it was because he was named after his father, but we don't know for certain.
Between the births of 13 children, Clifton and Bessie slowly migrated northward, to eventually settle in Indianapolis, Indiana. Out of the 13 children, they only had 2 daughters: Dorothy and Betty. Dorothy was born in Sumner County in 1935, but by 1937, Clifton and Bessie were living in Allen County, KY. The family's next move northward occurred sometime before their son, Larry's birth in 1944 in Tipton Co., Indiana.
