Rev. William H. Leggett, 90, of Hagerstown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown.

Born on January 17, 1923 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harrison and Martha (Crilly) Leggett.

Pastor Leggett was a member of the Boonsboro Family Worship Center and was licensed with the Pentecostal Holiness Conference. He began preaching at the age of 16. He served as pastor of over a dozen churches from Pennsylvania to Florida, and started and built the First Church of God in Hamilton Virginia. For the last seven years, he had served as the Associate Pastor at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie E. (Martz) Leggett; one son, John W. Leggett and his wife Lois of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; one step-daughter, Doris J. Dagenhart of Mt. Lena, Maryland; two step-sons, James L. and Michael W. Griffith, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.

A celebration of William's life journey will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike, in Boonsboro. Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Church.
