                  Last rites For Ben Conkey Mon. Feb 12

Services for Benjamin Levens Conkey, age 73, resident of 179 East California Street, Calipatria, will be held Monday morning, February 12, 1968 at 10:00 a.m. in the Calipatria Community Church, with Reverand John Allan officiating. The Fitzhenry Mortuary of Indio will be in charge and interment will be in Riverview Cemetery at Brawley.

Conkey passed away early Wednesday morning in the Valley Memorial Hospital in Indio, where he was taken last week on February 2nd.

Ben Conkey was born in Austin, Mower County, Minnesota on January 14, 1895. He came to California in 1921 and to Calipatria in 1927 and had made his home here since that time, a little more than forty years. He was employed by the Imperial Irrigation District and in farm work until his retirement seven years ago.

His survivors include three nephews and four nieces. His nearest relative, Francis Clark, lives in Coachella, and was in Calipatia yesterday making arrangements for his uncle's services.
