Ida confessed hope in Christ in 1939, and joined New Haven Primitive Baptist Church. Later, the church changed its name and became the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until her passing.
Ida Mae Edwards lived a life of Love, Wisdom, Fun and Family Unity! She leaves to cherish her memories: One Loving Daughter and Care-giver to the last minute, Mrs. Birdia Edwards Patton Murry; Three Grandsons, Rickey (Angela) Patton Sr., Stoney Patton, and Eric Leslie; One Granddaughter, Connie Patton; Six Great-Grandsons, Rickey Ahmad Patton Jr., Cornelius Qwaun (Starr) Hurt, Anthony (Sonja) Hurt, Talanda (Jerica) Banks, Chris (Laterria) Patton, and Le'Patrick Marque (Dominique) Patton; One Great-Granddaughter, Alyia Patton; Twelve Great Great-Grandchildren, and a host Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, and a multitude of loving friends, cousins, family and well wishers.
Funeral service will be 11am on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Royal Chapel of Memories with Reverend David Lee Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Public viewing will be held from 11am-8pm on Friday, May 27, 2011; from 8:30am-11am on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Royal Funeral Home.
