Lora Lea Bradford 72, of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, February 25, 2011 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the River Blvd. Baptist Church 3212 N. River Blvd., Independence, MO 64050. Lora was born May 2, 1938 in Texas County, MO to Lemuel and Edna A. (McDonald) Thompson. She had worked as a lab tech for Lake City Ammunition Plant for over 28 years before she retired in 1992. She enjoyed reading, mysteries by Danielle Steele, John Grisham and Mary Higgins Clark. She was a 25-year member of the River Blvd. Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by; her husband of 55 years, Sidney Earl Bradford of the home; a son, Rick and wife Shelley of Independence, MO, a son Don and wife Linda of Pleasant Hill, MO, a daughter, Kathy and husband Mark Keen of Clinton, MO and a son Jared and wife Tara of Kansas City, MO; 2 brothers, Art Thompson and wife Geneva and Don Thompson and wife Shirley all of Springfield MO; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A sister, Delores Jean Johnson and a brother, Clarence Thompson, preceded her in death.
