She was born in Fremont, Pa., Dec. 28, 1884, a daughter of Daniel and Sarah A. (HENDRICKS) HOVIS.
Mrs. KIEFER came here at the age of five.
She attended Colon Schools and was married to William L. KIEFER, Oct. 1, 1923, in Centreville. He died July 2, 1971.
Mrs. KIEFER had worked at the Lamb Knits Goods Co., in her earlier years, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by a cousin, and a niece and two nephews of Mr. KIEFER.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Katie HOVIS and Mrs. Ross (Maude) LEWIS; a brother, Stoner H. HOVIS, and a nephew.
Friends may call at the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Larry R. Sachau, pastor of the Colon United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Community Historical Society at Colon.
