Paris Rosiebelle Dillon Smith, 87, of Glade Hill, passed into eternal peace where there is no more suffering, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. She was born March 24, 1926, a daughter of the late Peddie Burger Dillon and Mary White Thurman Dillon. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Tommie Lee Smith on October 18, 2012. Surviving are her children, Nancy (Barry) Hodges, Billy (Bonnie) Smith, Frankie (Karen) Smith, Rita (John) Thurman; grandchildren, Cassandra D. (Tony) Pagans, Tina (Steve) Manning, Jeanette (Mark) Mullins, Betty Jo Smith Pickeral (Kirk), John Jr. (Misty) Thurman, Billy Joe Smith Jr., Dena (Jon) Sawyer, Dean (Lindsey) Smith, Jason Thurman (Erin); 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Perry (Joyce) Dillon, Virginia Lorrene Fralin, Roy (Magdoline) Dillon, Everette Dillon, Betty Ann (deceased), and a still born girl; sister-in-law, Alma Smith Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013, with Dr. Jackie Spence and Pastor David Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
