WIMMER, Windell Thomas, SR. 76, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 30, 1994. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and retired from the City of Roanoke with over 37 years service.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby B. Wimmer; daughter, Shirley Wade, Roanoke; sons, Tommy Wimmer, Roanoke and George A. Wright, Sr., Smith Mountain Lake; brother, Tony Wimmer; sisters, Ruby Helms, Maryland, Christine Willis, Roanoke, and Irene Overstreet, Bedford; grandchildren, George A. Jr., Jonathan, and Scott Wright, James and Timothy Wade; great-grandchildren, Damian and Shannon Wright.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel by the Rev. William Crane, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel.
