CLAYTON SAM BRYANT
Funeral services for Clayton Sam Bryant, 76, of Opelika will be 1:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2003 at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Bryant will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time.Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Frederick's Funeral Home.Mr. Bryant, who died May 1, 2003, was born in Notasulga July 16, 1926 to the late Thomas Warren and Hazel Pattillo Bryant. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II, was a Baptist by faith and a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Bryant retired from the Alabama Forestry Commission in 1987. He loved fishing, hunting, farming and most of all enjoyed helping others. Mr. Bryant loved people and was loved by family and many friends.Survivors include his wife, Joan Ledbetter Bryant; two sons and daughters-in-law, Warren and Faye Bryant of Clanton, Phillip and Dianne Bryant of Opelika; one grandson and wife, Jason and Stacy Bryant of Clanton; three grand-daughters, Becky Bryant of Clan-ton, Megan and Hilary Bryant both of Opelika; two sisters, Marie Golden of Auburn, Irene Cooper of Tuskegee along with a host of nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 2807 Lee Road 166, Opelika, AL 36804.Frederick's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
