During the winter of 1919-1920, the first Sunday School was organized in their home with her husband, Brother Samson, serving as Ward Clerk.
Ruthe was the first Relief Society President (1922-1934) and was a District Leader or Supervisor for Relief Society. When the Gridley Stake was formed in 1934, Ruthe was the first Stake Relief Society President.
Ruthe and Omar never had children but acted as parents to all the missionaries in the area.
They owned their home at 506 Forbes Avenue, Yuba City, Sutter County, California.
Ruthe enjoyed photography and would make several copies of her her photos.
She was also a singer and was very protective of her piano..
She did assist the daughter of her sister Lillie, Mildred, who had a large family, with boxes of groceries.
