LORA REBECCA (TURNER) LONG, age 89, of Maysville, WV passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at her home.
She was born Spetember 22, 1923 in Onego, WV and was the daughter of the late Charles Andrew Turner and Dorothy Purlie (Helmick) Turner.
Lora married Fred Long in October 26, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 19, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Ted, Abe, Clarence, Omar, Raymond, Bob, Edward and Charles Junior Turner and two sisters, Elva Flynn and Ruth Long; and daughter-in-law, Onita Long.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Long was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church for many years.
She loved cooking and taking care of her family.
Surviving are seven sons, William Fred "Bill" Long, Robert J. (Geraldine) Long, Buddy L. (Pat) Long, Joe "Mike" Long, John H. (Letha) Long, Jack E. Long and Charles "Doug" Long, all of Maysville, WV.
Eight Grandchildren and Eight great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
Family will receive friends Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Sunday 1 p.m. (June 16th) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Brother Dayton Lewis, Pastor Tommy George and Rev. Robert Klier officiating.
Burial will follow in the Long Family Cemetery on Corner Road, Maysville, WV.
