Final Rites Held For Cass City Resident
Funeral services were held Saturday, at 9:30 a. m., and Requiem High Mass at 10:00, at Little's Funeral Home for Mrs. Mabel O'Connor, lifetime resident of this community. She died at her home here Wednesday morning, February 20, after an illness of three months. Rev. John J. Bozek officiated.
Mrs. O'Connor was born in Ellington Township May 3, 1881, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wickware.
On January 20, 1909, she married Mr. Dennis Patrick O'Connor in Sault Ste Marie, where she taught school for about three years.
In 1911, they moved to this community where she lived until her death. Mr. O'Connor died May 3, 1948.
Mrs. O'Connor was a member of the Altar Society of the St. Pancratius Church of Cass City.
Surviving are: Two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Genevieve) Bartle of Cass City and Mrs. (Marion) O'Brien of Detroit; six sons, Vincent, Ivan and Lewis, all of Cass City, Alton of Detroit, Morris and Francis of Pontiac; four sisters, Mrs. Dorr Perry of Caro, Mrs. Myra McCasey, Mrs. Edwln Peck and Mrs. Lucy McHenry, all of Detroit; and six grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death.
Rosary services were held Friday at 7:30 p. m. and burial was in Elkland Cemetery.
