Mr. Loyd Daniel Vines, age 65 of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, June 13, 2013.
Mr. Vines was a long time member and Deacon of Union Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. He was a logger and a native of Dodson. He was the son of the late Lenard D. Vines and the late Lucile Simpson Vines. He was also preceded in death by a sister Hazel Liles as well as two brothers David Vines and Edward Vines.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 44 years Jenny Howell Vines, son Randy Vines of Dodson, three daughters Laurissa McCormick and her husband Steve of Paradise Texas, Christy Thomas and her husband Shane of Dodson, and Theresa Creel and husband Chase of Winnfield.
Mr. Vines was loved and adored by his seven grandchildren Kaelyn, Casey, Christian, Brendan, Landon, Madalyn, and Mason. He is also survived by sisters Sybil Griffin, Brenda Brown, Connie Vines and brothers Alvin Vines, and Philip Vines all of Dodson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2013 at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Dick Debusk and Rayford Higgs Officiating. Interment will follow in the Hurricane Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Jay Howell, Willie Howell, Sr., Robert Howell, Bert Howell, Sr., Bert Howell, Jr., and Marshall Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Williams and Randy Melton.
