Funeral services for Charles Eugene "Chuck" Stewart Sr., 82, of Centralia, formerly of Louisiana, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana with the Rev. Jason Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery at Louisiana.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Heitage Hall Nusing Home in Centralia.
He was born January 30, 1928 in Louisiana to Alonzo and D.Arlene Houchins Stewart. He married Mary Louise McKinzie April 6, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Louisiana. She preceded him in death March 6, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Charles Eugene Stewart Jr., and wife, Lelah Karen of Centralia; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Chuck had been employed as an auto mechanic, beginning at the Schaper Chevrolet Agency in Louisiana which later became the Bradley Chevrolet Agency for 42 years, retiring in 1990. He also farmed in the Louisiana area.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisiana.
