FORT EDWARD — John R. Brazell, 94, formerly of Indian Lake, died Wednesday evening, June 12, 2013, at his home.

Born March 28, 1919, in Hoosick Falls, he was the son of Thomas F. and Sarah E. (Kyer) Brazell.

He was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Hoosick Falls, Hoosick Falls High School and a 1941 graduate of Troy Business School.

He married Julia Dwyer on June 18, 1949, in Schenectady. Mrs. Brazell died Aug. 20, 2006.

John had been employed by General Electric Co. in Schenectady, N.Y., for 32 years in the cost accounting department before his retirement in 1979.

In 1980, he and Julia moved to Indian Lake, where they resided until 2003. John worked as a school bus driver for Indian Lake Central School for several years.

He was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus and Holiday Ramblers RV Club.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Julia Brazell; one sister, Lucille Robinson; and one brother, Walter Brazell.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Indian Lake.
