She apparently resumed her maiden name, for in the 1930 Census she is again called Etta Harmon and is living with the family of her brother Loren). According to the death index of the Washington State Archives, she died at Western State Hospital in Fort Steilacoom, Pierce Co., WA. "Miss Etta Harmon, 48, a resident of Tacoma for 17 years, died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was a native of Minnesota, and a member of the Order of Maccabees. She leaves three brothers, Lamott of North Dakota; F. L. [Frank Leon] of Granger; L. M. [Loren Milton] of Snohomish, and a half-brother, Louis Jackson of Tacoma. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a. m. at Piper's chapel; burial in Tacoma cemetery."
