Actor, Motion Picture Director. He appeared in many plays and films from 1910s through 1930s, including his role as ‘Mayor “Soapy” Caswell’ in “The Red Rider” series. He was in the original Broadway casts of "The Red Robe" (1928), and "A Woman of Destiny" (1936) Father of actor Malcolm Lee Beggs.
