SHOREHAM, VT. - Mary Ann (Landon) Turpin, age 77, of Shoreham, passed away on Monday, February 8th 2016 at the Helen Porter Health & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury, Vt.
She was born on July 29th 1938 in Proctor, Vt., she was the daughter of Frederick "Fred" Loveland and Helen Lucina (Martin) Landon Sr.
She received her early education in Florence, Vt. Schools.
She moved with her family to Orwell, Vt., where she attended junior high and graduated from Brandon High School Class of 1957.
After graduation, she worked as a Switchboard Operator at the Porter Hospital in Middlebury, Vt.
She married Ernest "Ernie" John Turpin of Shoreham, Vt. on October 21st 1961 at the St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Shoreham, Vermont.
She worked at Shoreham Apple Co-op for more than 25 years until it closed.
She later worked in the Finish Department at Vermont Tubbs for several years, retiring in 2006.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Hawaii and cruising the Caribbean. She was an avid bird watcher.
She a member and past president of Brandon American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 55.
She was predeceased by her parents; her father Fred Landon on November 19th 1950 and her mother Helen Landon in 1987, two brothers; Arthur Fred Landon on October 25th 2003 and Frederick "Fred" Loveland Landon Jr. in 1973, and three sisters; Florence Landon on December 27th 1928, Betty E. (Landon) McCray on December 29th 2001, and Janet Elva (Landon) Duffany on March 5th 2012.
