William Raine Flaskett was born in London on April 26, 1866, to William Flaskett and Elizabeth Lincoln Raine. He married Edith May Blandy on March 7, 1889 in London. They emigrated to the United states later that same month, landing in New York from Liverpool. They made their way to South Dakota, but didn't stay long. In 1890, William went west to Tacoma, Washington, where he quickly found work as both a stenographer, and a flutist for the Tacoma Theatre Orchestra. After saving money, he sent for the rest of his family. He was "widely known as both a musician and a lawyer." William and Edith had 5 girls, Coralie, Evelyn, Gladys, Dorothy and Edith. He died on October 5, 1950 in Tacoma, Washington.
