Mary Odelle Turpin Turner, 81 years of age, departed this life at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 13th, 2013.

Mary was born in Paris, Kentucky on December 3rd, 1931, daughter of the late Hubert and Frances Allison Turpin.

Mary was survived by one son, Terry Lee Turner (Kay Shepherd); one daughter, Mary Beth Brown; five grandchildren, Jeff Turner, Mason (and Cassey) Turner, Chase Turner, Megan Brown, Chris Brown; one great granddaughter, Laina Turner; one brother, Ross Turpin; one sister, Jane Parrett; very special family and friends, Judy (and Larry) Johnson, Mary Haney, Dorothy Burns, and Nanine Brooks; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Turpin, who departed this life on June 30th, 1983 and Frances Allison Turpin, who departed this life on January 14th, 1989; her loving husband, Bruce R. Turner, who departed this life in 1990; one brother, Allison Hart "Sonny" Turpin; and an infant sister, Jean Hampton Turpin.

She was a retired interior designer, seamstress, and floral designer. She loved working with flowers and especially working in her own yard. She worked at Smits Greenhouses for many years and enjoyed sharing her love of flowers with all of her dear customers and friends. She had an amazing talent in her sewing; everything she created was beautiful and unique. There wasn't anything that she couldn't do or make when it came to sewing, from slip covers for furniture, pillows, bed spreads, drapes, costumes for the Lions Club Dixieland Show and Town and Village dance recitals to beautiful wedding dresses. The one she was most proud of was the wedding dress she made for her daughter. She loved music and at one time sang in the choir with the First United Methodist Church of Paris where she was a member. There was nothing that she loved more than to fish and to laugh and to hear her home filled with the laughter of her beloved family. Her family was everything to her and she was everything to them.

Visitations were held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18th, 2013 at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home in Paris, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19th, 2013 in the Chapel of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hutchison officiating.

Her casket bearers were: Jeff Turner, Mason Turner, Chris Brown, Don Taylor, Rodney Taylor, Jerry Ronald Riddell, Greg Buckler, Larry Johnson, and Billy Faris. Her honorary bearers were: Chase Turner, Carl Turpin, Eddie Allison, Stanley Eldridge, Jerry Morse, Kelly Stanfield, Dr. Nathan Moore, and Dr. Michael Horne.

Burial followed in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF MARY,

If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!

I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.

I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
