Ryan M. Mitchell was born Dec. 22, 1981, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Charles E. Mitchell and Nancy Carol (Hay) Mitchell.

Ryan married April S. Little August 9, 2003; they became the parents of a daughter.

Ryan was a part time employee for a number of years with his uncle at Butch's Hubcaps, Connellsville. He was a member of Scottdale Moose Lodge No. 194 and Scottdale VFW Post No. 7781.

Ryan M. Mitchell, 29, of Alverton, died late Thursday evening, July 7, 2011, in Children's Hospital, Lawrenceville.

In addition to his father, Charles E. Mitchell, of Seattle, Wash., Ryan was survived by his loving and devoted wife of seven years, April S. (Little) Mitchell; his loving daughter, Hannah M. Mitchell, at home; his brother, James D. Mitchell, of Clinton, Tenn., Candance and their daughter, Drew; his stepbrother, Brandon Mitchell; and his stepsister, Mercy Mitchell, both of Washington State; his uncles and aunts, Sharon E. DeAngelis and her husband, Richard, of Coatsville, and their daughter, Trisha Walker and her husband, Steven, of Coatsville, and their children, Loryn and Marissa; Theodore L. Hay and his wife, Dawn, of Connellsville, and their children, Gloria Keslar and her husband, Tom, of Greensburg, and Teddy Hay II and his wife, Lori, and their children, Carmen and Mylee; and Kenneth F. Stewart Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Uniontown, and their children, Hannah and Aaron Stewart; mother-in-law, Susie Arvin, of Connellsville; father-in-law, Paul Little, of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Jessie Little, of Mt. Pleasant; and his best friend who Ryan considered a brother, Tyrone Burton, of Uniontown.

In addition to his mother, Nancy Carol (Hay) Mitchell, who died Aug. 1, 1998, Ryan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth F. Stewart Sr., who died May 28, 2006, and Lois Elaine (Cockburn) Stewart, who died May 22, 1992.
